Belarus
Belarus, located in Eastern Europe, has agriculture and manufacturing as its most powerful economic sectors. Belarus doesn't have rich deposits of minerals. However, small deposits include: iron ore, refractory clay, nonferrous metal ores, dolomite, potash (for fertilizer production), rock salt, molding sand, sand for glass production and various building materials. Peat is considered the most precious mineral resource, used for fuel and fertilizer and in the chemical industry. Main industries of the country include: metal-cutting machine tools, chemical fibers, fertilizer, textiles, tractors, trucks, earthmovers, motorcycles, televisions, radios and refrigerators. |
